"The Raatib that I have in my possession, is the original raatib. It was passed down to the Mahdi's wife, As Sayyidah Faatimah Maqbuwlah, after he died, and was then passed on to their son, which is my grandfather, As Sayyid Abdur Rahman Muhammad Ahmad Al Mahdi. The Raatib continued to be passed on through the family to his son, by his wife Bakhiytah to As Sayyid As Sidiq Abudr Rahman Al Mahdi, then he passed it on to his younger brother, As Sayyid Al Haadi Abdur Rahman Al Mahdi. Then it was rightfully passed on to As Sayyid Sadiyq Abdur Rahman Al Mahdi, and Rahman, and from him it was passed on to me. It was done this way so that the Raatib would stay in the family."
